Hello from the Twin Cities

With the conference now in full swing, Becca and Jenny have been diving into the ever growing ties between museums, educators and technology. This morning a teacher discussed the developing educational trend of using art integration to improve students analytical skills, and the teachers’ need for educational resources that give them and their students the tools to use museum objects as an alternative entry point from traditional texts into the curriculum for students who benefit from visual learning.

Other exciting themes have been the role of museums as story tellers and the push for greater museum involvement in local communities. All of these concepts have given us great food for thought on how we at Museums in Hand can best promote the story a museum would like to tell while meeting the professional needs of teachers, and engaging new students in the museum community.
